Steve Mccurry, Goat Tower Arts Gallery, 2023

Photographs by American photographer and photojournalist Steve McCurry, who became famous with the photograph titled Afghan Girl in the June 1985 issue of National Geographic Magazine, were on exhibit at the exhibition as documents that will allow us to witness the dramatic events that shape history. The exhibition features the artist's work from the last 30 years; the Monsoon Rains project, which he began with a trip to Sri Lanka, included photographs taken during his travels to the Far East and Middle East countries, as well as photographs revealing historical events such as the Gulf War, September 11, the Beirut Civil War, and Soviet Russia's intervention in Afghanistan. The exhibition featured images by the artist taken in İstanbul, as well as a portrait of Ara Güler, Türkiye's only magnum photographer.
