Personal Data Processing Clarification Text for the Türkiye Culture Route Festival by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism
DEFINITIONS
Personal Data: Any information related to an identified or identifiable natural person,
Processing of Personal Data: Any operation performed on personal data, whether or not by automated means, including collecting, recording, organizing, storing, keeping, altering, retrieving, using, disclosing by transmission, disseminating or otherwise making available, aligning or combining, restricting, erasing, or destroying,
Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK): The law that was published in the Resmi Gazete on April 7, 2016, and came into force,
Data Controller: The natural or legal person (Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Türkiye Culture Route Festival) who determines the purposes and means of processing personal data, and is responsible for establishing and managing the data recording system,
Data Processor: The natural or legal person who processes personal data on behalf of the data controller based on the authority given by them,
Data Subject: The natural person whose personal data is processed,
Data Recording System: The system in which personal data are processed by structuring according to certain criteria.
DATA CONTROLLER
As the data controller, your personal data will be processed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Türkiye Culture Route Festival under the conditions specified below, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law (Law) No. 6698, Article 10, to inform you about the purposes of processing your personal data, to whom and for what purposes the personal data may be transferred, the method of collection of personal data, and the legal reason for their collection, as well as your rights as the personal data owner.
PURPOSE OF PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA
Your personal data collected will be processed within the scope of the conditions and purposes of processing personal data specified in Article 5 titled "Conditions for Processing Personal Data" and Article 6 titled "Conditions for Processing Special Categories of Personal Data" of Law No. 6698, for the purposes stated below.

To conduct activities on our website and mobile application,
To complete membership services on our website and mobile application,
To perform identity verification during membership transactions on our website and mobile application,
To improve interaction with citizens in the online environment,
To collect IP address and similar information as per the "cookie policy" from those who use our site via the website/mobile application,
To conduct press bulletin operations on the website and mobile application,
To manage our social media accounts within the scope of project activities,
To inform our citizens about social and cultural activities,
To evaluate complaints, requests, and suggestions from citizens within the scope of projects,
To fulfill our legal obligations and exercise our rights arising from the current legislation,
To provide information to public officials on matters related to public security upon request and as required by law,
To achieve Türkiye's tourism goals in line with the tourism strategy and policies determined by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism,
To promote and market the existing social and cultural opportunities of the Türkiye Culture Route Festival worldwide, your personal data will be processed in accordance with Articles 4, 5, and 6 of the Law, under the conditions and purposes specified. Your personal data will not be used for purposes other than the activities of our institution.
TO WHOM AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE THE PERSONAL DATA MAY BE TRANSFERRED
The Data Controller is committed to processing your personal data with the necessary technical and administrative security measures. However, during the conduct and control of our business activities, your personal data may be transferred and processed by other public institutions and organizations authorized to request your personal data, limited to the purposes stated in this clarification text and in accordance with the data processing conditions regulated under Articles 5 and 6 of the Personal Data Protection Law.
METHOD AND LEGAL REASON FOR COLLECTING PERSONAL DATA
Your personal data are collected physically and digitally through email, phone, postal/courier services, printed forms, and face-to-face meetings, in the context of the business relationship between you and the Data Controller, by informing data owners clearly and understandably in writing and, where necessary, obtaining their explicit consent, in accordance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data, for the purpose of conducting the business relationship and achieving the purposes mentioned above.
This includes all written or oral personal data collected under the conditions of personal data processing specified in Articles 5 and 6 of Law No. 6698, and for the purposes stated in this clarification text, to be used, stored, processed, and transferred.
RIGHTS OF THE PERSONAL DATA OWNER UNDER THE PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION LAW NO. 6698
As the personal data owner, you have the following rights under Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698:
To inquire whether your personal data are processed,
If your personal data have been processed, to request information regarding this,
To learn the purpose of the processing of your personal data and whether they are used in accordance with their purpose,
To know the third parties to whom your personal data are transferred domestically or abroad,
To request correction if your personal data are processed incompletely or inaccurately, and to request notification of the actions taken to third parties to whom your personal data have been transferred,
To request the deletion or destruction of your personal data in case the reasons necessitating their processing cease to exist, despite being processed in accordance with the provisions of the Law No. 6698 and other relevant laws, and to request notification of the actions taken to third parties to whom your personal data have been transferred,
To object to any result that is to your detriment due to the analysis of processed data exclusively through automated systems,
To request compensation for the damages in case you incur damages due to unlawful processing of your personal data.
You can submit your requests regarding your rights to our company by the methods specified below, and your applications will be concluded free of charge as soon as possible and within thirty (30) days at the latest according to the nature of your request. However, if the transaction requires an additional cost, a fee may be charged according to the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board.

APPLICATION FORM FOR RELATED PERSON
Application Method
Under the rights listed in Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law, you can convey your requests to the INSTITUTION (“INSTITUTION”) within the scope of the rights listed in Article 11 of the Law, in accordance with Article 13 of the Law and Article 5 of the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, using this form through the methods described below.
1.1 In-person Application

You can apply in person by verifying your identity at our institution's address or through a representative by presenting a power of attorney. The application can be made with an application form or a petition; however, it must be signed with a wet signature.

The application should be made in a sealed envelope, and the envelope should be labeled "Request for Information under the Personal Data Protection Law".
1.2 Application by Post
Requirements for Application
An application can also be made by sending a wet-signed application form or petition by post. If the application is made through a representative, the original power of attorney must also be included in the envelope.

An application can also be made directly or through a representative via a notary. This application must specify how the response is desired to be received.
